Common types of artificial boards include plywood, fiberboard, particle board, blockboard, ecological board, etc. The following is a detailed introduction:

Plywood

Structure and production: Logs are sliced into large veneers along the growth rings. After drying and gluing, they are assembled and glued together according to the principle that the wood grain directions of adjacent veneer layers are perpendicular to each other. The number of veneer layers is odd. Common types include three-ply, five-ply, and nine-ply.

Building material plywood

Features: High strength, not prone to deformation, and good resistance to bending. It has good moisture resistance and is suitable for humid environments. The surface is smooth and flat, suitable for decorative treatments such as veneering and painting.

Application: Widely used in furniture panels, cabinets, floor base layers, construction formwork and other fields.

Fiberboard

Structure and production: Using wood or plant fibers as the main raw materials, they are mechanically separated into individual fibers, and additives are added to form board blanks. Then, they are combined into artificial boards through hot pressing or adhesives.

Building material fiberboard

Classification and characteristics: According to density, it can be divided into hard fiberboard (high-density fiberboard), semi-hard fiberboard (medium-density fiberboard), and soft fiberboard (low-density fiberboard). Hard fiberboard is an excellent substitute for wood and has high strength. Medium-density fiberboard has a uniform structure, small expansion and contraction, is easy to process and molt, has a smooth surface, and is easy to stick decorative surfaces. Soft fiberboard is light in weight and has good sound absorption and heat insulation performance.

Usage: Hard fiberboard can be used for indoor floor and wall decoration, partition walls, etc. It can also be made into sound-absorbing boards for application in ceiling projects of buildings. Medium-density fiberboard is often used for cabinet doors, decorative lines, molded doors, etc. Soft fiberboard is mostly used for packaging, sound insulation materials, etc.

Particleboard

Structure and manufacturing: Wood processing residues, small-diameter wood, sawdust, etc. are cut into fragments of certain specifications. After drying, they are mixed with glue, hardener, water repellent, etc., and then pressed into boards under certain temperature and pressure.

Building material particleboard

Features: It has excellent sound absorption and sound insulation performance, with basically the same performance in all directions. The structure is relatively uniform. It has good processing performance, a smooth surface, realistic texture, uniform bulk density, small thickness error, is resistant to pollution and aging, and is aesthetically pleasing. It can be painted and faced with various veneers. However, it has a relatively high density, rough edges, is prone to moisture absorption, and has a lower screain-holding capacity than wood.

Usage: It is mainly used as partition walls and interior wall decorative panels in architectural decoration and renovation. It is also a commonly used material for custom furniture such as wardrobes and bookcases, as well as office furniture and ordinary kitchen cabinets.

Particleboard (blockboard

Structure and manufacturing: The middle is made of solid wood strips joined together, with thin wood veneer or plywood pasted on both sides. It is generally a five-layer structure.

Building materials blockboard

Features: High nail-holding capacity, considerable strength, suitable for making furniture panels, door panels, door frames, window frame keel frames, etc. The processing techniques are divided into machine splicing and hand splicing. The quality of machine splicing boards is better, with smooth splicing, uniform load-bearing capacity, and less prone to deformation.

Usage: It is an indispensable wood product for wall, ceiling and fine wood decoration in home decoration, and is often used for furniture frames, door and window casings, background wall base, etc.

Ecological board (paint-free board

Structure and manufacturing: The base material is fine woodwork board or particle board, with melamine veneer on the surface.

Building materials ecological board

Features: It has excellent wear resistance, scratch resistance and corrosion resistance. The surface is smooth and flat, with rich colors and realistic textures. It can be directly used in furniture making and decoration without the need for surface treatments such as painting. It has relatively good environmental protection performance and can reduce indoor pollution.

Application: Widely used in fields such as overall wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, and children's furniture, it is a relatively environmentally friendly and convenient artificial board.

Decorative panel

Structure and production: Its full name is decorative veneered plywood. It is made by slicing natural wood or engineered wood into thin slices of a certain thickness, adhering them to the surface of the plywood, and then pressing them under heat.

Building material decorative panels

Features: It not only possesses the elegant grain of wood but also achieves the goal of making full use of wood resources and reducing costs. Commonly, it is divided into natural wood veneer decorative panels and artificial thin wood decorative panels. The former has natural and irregular texture patterns, while the latter has basically straight textures or regular patterns.

Usage: Mainly used for surface decoration in interior decoration or furniture manufacturing, it can create the texture and effect of various natural woods.

Plastic veneer panel (fireproof board

Structure and production: It is made by hot-pressing three different types of paper impregnated with different adhesives.

Plastic veneer panels for building materials

Features: It has excellent wear resistance, acid and alkali resistance, flame retardancy, easy cleaning and water resistance.

Usage: It is usually pasted on the surface of other boards and is often used in the production of furniture or cabinets, serving both protective and decorative purposes.
